02.01 Histology of the Cell Flashcards
What are the steps of Slide Preparation?
- Fixation - Termination of Cell Cycle, Prevention of Autolysis and Preservation of parts by using Fixative
- Dehydration - Removal of water using ethyl alcohol
- Clearing - Removing alcohols and lipids by using lipid solvent making it transparent
- Embedding - Specimen baked using paraffin making it rigid for sectioning
- Sectioning - Done Using Microtome
- Staining - Using the proper stain to identify specific parts
