Rhythm is a series of rhythmic values.

The notehead
What is the line that connects a note head and flag?
The stem
What note values use a flag?
All notes that are shorter than a quarter note.
What are rests?
Rests indicate lengths of silences.
What is a tie?
A tie combines rhythmic values together.
What are augmentation dots?
An augmentation dot on any note or rest adds half the duration. The rhythmic value is said to be dotted. E.g. dotted quarter has a value of 1 and a half beats.
What are double dotted notes?
A second augmentation dot adds half the first dots value. Rhythmic values with two dots are “double-dotted.”
