What is whole practise
Perfect for high organisation and highly complex skills. Skills are taught as a complete whole movement
What is part-progressive practise
Parts of skills are practised in isolation and then linked together to form longer parts. Finally the whole skill is performed
What is whole-part-whole practise?
Suited to most skills. Skills are taught as a complete whole movement first. The coach identifies weaker sections and those parts are then practised. The whole skill is repeated.
What is feedback?
Feedback is the information received by performers about their skill performance. It can be internal from the performer or external from the coach, parent or video.
What is internal feedback?
Internal feedback is a piece of information a performer receives from the internal environment (within the body)
What is external feedback ?
External (or extrinsic) feedback is information received from external sources (outside the body).
What is proprioception?
Proprioception is the process by which the body can vary muscle contraction in immediate response to incoming information regarding external forces
What is positive and negative feedback ?
Positive feedback- reinforcing the correct outcome
Negative feedback- changes incorrect outcome
Defintion of skill
Skill is the ability to do something well
What is part practise?
Skills are broken into parts practised individually. After parts are perfected the skill is put back together again
