  • Salmonella
  • Campylobacter
  • Toxoplasma – common but often asymptomatic.
  • (Psittacosis – Chlamydophila psittaci) – atypical pneumonia, comes from birds
  • (Q-fever - Coxiella Burnetti) – spread from cattle/sheep; affects farmers
  • Ringworm/dermatophytosis

What is brucellosis?

A

occupational hazard of farmers, vets, slaughterhouse workers etc. organisms are excreted in milk, placenta and aborted foetus. Humans are infected during milking infected animals, during parturition, while handling carcasses of infected animals, or by consumption of unpasteurized dairy products
