What are z scores?
standardised values which are relative to the mean in terms of standard deviation.
When would you use a z score test?
When you have a sample and standard deviation
when you have interval/ratio variables
when data is normally
distributed
What is the normal distribution percentage rules?
1 stddev - 68
2 stddev - 95
3 stddev - 99
What does a z score output?
a value which shows that scores number of std devs from the mean
When using z scores what is important to understand about your hypothesis?
Whether it is 1 tailed or two tailed
What do we compare our z score to once we have obtained it through the table?
The z score of our critical values (0.05)
What is the rejection region?
The point past the critical value which if a value falls in, means we can reject the null
