Yr 7 Humanities Where Do Australians Live Flashcards
Why did so many soldier settlements fail after WW1?
Many soldier settlements failed because the soldiers were not always suited to farming, the farms were too small or farmers did not have enough money to invest in stock or equipment.
Were any 1917 soldier settlements attempted in
parts of Australia that today are remote mining regions with a FIFO workforce? Explain your answer using information from figures 2 and 3.
Not many of the soldier settlements are in areas that are now used for mining because these areas are not suitable for farming.
