What is a natural resource?
A natural resource is a raw material that occurs in the the environment and is necessary and useful for people.
What is a renewable resource?
A renewable resource is a resource which can be replace in a short period of time.
What is a non-renewable resource?
A resource which takes thousands to millions of years to reform.
Give 2 examples of renewable resources
Solar energy and wind
Give 2 examples of non renewable resources
Coal and oil and diamonds
Is water a renewable resource?
Yes, it is because it is constantly being recycled.
Name the place water stays the longest.
The Antarctic ice sheets. It also stays in groundwater, glaciers and oceans.
Provide your own example of how the water cycle works.
For eg. an animal drinks water and urinates it out.
It is absorbed by the soil then is evaporated.
It gathers in clouds before condensing and eventually precipitates.
What is groundwater?
Groundwater is water that is found under the Earth’s surface.
Permeable means
Permeable means to allow liquids or gases to pass through something.
Groundwater recharge
Groundwater recharge is a process in which water moves down from the surface into the groundwater, thus ‘recharging’ it.
