- absorb excess Qi from the abdomen

- excess post partum problems (ex. Retention of lochiae)
- genital problems
- epileptic seizures during the day

- continues to rise over abdomen and chest to connect at ST12 then over the throat to ST9
- crosses the anterior cheek to connect with UB, DU, and Yang qiao mai at UB1
