A
- Blocking tool reaches the target in an outward trajectory
- The fist reaches the same level as the defender’s eyes at the moment of the block
- Prepares on top, blocking palm facing up
- The blocking tool (outer forearm) is focused toward the center of the defender’s shoulders
- Used to defend against an attack directed toward the neck or point above

A
- Performed in half-facing
- The fingertips are at the same level as the defender’s shoulder
- Used to intercept an attack toward the defender’s mid-section (solar plexus and areas above), for example against a middle punch or a middle knife-hand strike
- Prepare on top with blocking palm facing up
- Bring opposite hand to the hip for reaction force

- An attack using the fist directed toward the eye level of the attacker
- When the punch is delivered from the same side as the forward leg, it is called an obverse punch
- When the punch is delivered from the opposite side as the forward leg, it is called a reverse punch

Side front snap kick (Yop apcha busigi)
A
- This technique is used in attacking an opponent located at the side front.
- Both the principle and method of kicking are the same as a front snap kick with the exception that the body is half facing the opponent at the moment of impact
- The stationary foot is pivoted to the side, 15o forward

Side front rising kick (Yop apcha olligi)
A
- The principles are the same as front risking kick, but the stationary foot is pivoted to the side, 15o forward

Inward downward kick (Anuro naeryo chagi)
A
- The principles are the same as an outward downward kick, but the trajectory of the leg is from the outside of the body inward before pulling the leg down

Chon-Ji
A
- Definition: Chon-Ji means literally the Heaven and the Earth. In the orient, it is interpreted as the creation of the world or the beginning of human history. Therefore, this is the initial pattern learned by a beginner. It consists of two similar parts; one that represents the Heaven and one that represents the Earth.
- Start in junbi narani sogi (parallel ready stance). At the end, move left leg forward to return to ready stance.

Three-Step Sparring (outer forearm block)
A
- Attack: three walking stance high punches, stepping forward with the right foot first
- Defense: three outer forearm high side blocks, stepping back with the right foot first
- Counter: high punch with the right fist
- Measurement: full foot overlap
- Execution: same protocol as previous sequences except performed in two directions (children alone / adults with a partner)
- Be able to perform the sequences from prior ranks as well (in two directions)
