What does swash mean?
The movement of a wave as it flows up the beach after it has broken an angle.
What does backwash mean?
The movement of a wave as it flows straight back down the beach under the influence of gravity.
What does Fetch mean?
The distance the wave travels
What are constructive waves?
Formed when the swash is stronger than the backwash
What are destructive waves?
When the backwash is stronger than the swash
What is longshore drift?
The movement of the material along the beach and zigzag pattern
What is deposition?
Depositions is when the material is dropped due to a loss of energy
What is erosion?
Erosion is the wearing away of the land
What is mass movement
The downhill movement of rock, soil or mould under the influence of gravity
What is weathering?
The breakdown of rocks in situ ( one place)
