Friction

A

Friction hold back the movement of a sliding object. If this force wasn’t here you’d just fall over.

Q

Air resistance

A

The force that makes it so when your skydiving you dont go at an infinite amount of speed. If this force wasn’t here skydiving would be a way to kill yourself

Q

Water resistance

A

Its exactly like air resistance but for water. Water resistance is resistance that makes it so you couldn’t just go ridiculously fast in water

Q

Magnetic force

A

Magnets exert a magnetic force onto other magnets or objects, if that material happens to be magnetic it will be sucked towards the magnet. This force is a non-contact force

Q

Electrostatic force

A

If you rub a ballon on paper you cam eventually pick up the paper, that is what an electrostatic force does. This force is a non-contact force

Q

Iris

A

The coloured bit of your eye that help to move the pupil to expand and shrink

17
Q

Cornea

A

The protective layer around the eye

18
Q

Retina

A

The bit at the back of the eye that picks up light and puts it into images

19
Q

Pupil

A

The black bit in the middle of your eye that expands to let it light and shrinks to let in less light

20
Q

Compress

A

When you squish an object

21
Q

Extension

A

When you make stretch an object

22
Q

Elastic limit

A

If a spring is stretched more than its elastic limit it wont go back to its original form

23
Q

Balanced force

A

When a push and pull force are equal

24
Q

Unbalanced force

A

When one push or pull force is stronger than another push or pull force

25
Q

Weight

A

How much force you put onto the ground

26
Q

Streamlined

A

Making an object have less air resistance

27
Q

3 affects of forces

A
  1. A force can move a stationary object
  2. A force can change the speed of a moving object
  3. A force can stop a moving object
28
Q

Tension

A

When something is stretched tightly

29
Q

Thrust

A

A type of propulsion force

30
Q

Upthrust

A

The upward thrust that keeps a boat from sinking

31
Q

Resultant force

A

The resultant force is the sum of both forces e.g

There was 40N pulling left and 50N pulling right that means that the resultant force is 10N to the right
