Year 13 Science Exam revision Flashcards
What are the main points you have to do to get all the marks in question 1?(reading time question)
Circle anomalous data, don’t include anomalous data in the mean, curve of best fit for a curve/line of best fit for a line, round mean into the same decimals as the given data
What should you include in your investigation plan?
Hypothesis Equipment list - with justification Risk assessment Control variable Dependant variable - units, how its measured, the precision Independent variable - how its measured, intervals taken to measure Results table Further using the data
Define independent, dependant and control variables
Independent variable - the one you change/investigate the effect of
Dependent variable - the one you measure
Control variable - the one you keep the same
Define directly proportional and examples
As one increases the other increases at the same rate
E.g., a car consumes more fuel the more distance it drives
What is the formula for percentage error?
Maximum error
—————————- X 100
Measured value
What is the null hypothesis?
What happens when the chi value calculated is lower than the critical value?
“There is no statistically significant difference”
You accept the null hypothesis
