- protestant:after death body stays in the ground but soul goes to god for judgement because jesus told a thief on the cross that he would be in heaven that day. Also,evidence of paranormal
- evangelical protestant: after death+ soul stays in the ground until the end of the world. St Paul teaches this belief in 1 corinthians 15:42-44
- roman catholic: belief in resurrection and immortality of the soul. The souls who have sinned will go to purgatory to be cleansed and people who have committed unforgivable sins will go to hell. They believe in this because of the new testament.
how does the belief of afterlife affect christians life(4)
- live within the guidelines of the bible because they believe they will be judged
- the fact that jesus resurrected gives them hope
- promise of an afterlife means forgiveness for some christians who have done bad things but repented and now hope for a better future
- offers comfort to those who have lost a loved one
why do some non religious people believe in afterlife(4)
- may have had near death experience:sometimes when you have a near death experience you see people who have already died
- ghosts: spirits of dead people who havent travelled on to the next place-can be a physical presence or a sense of feeling
- contacting the dead:mediums can contact the afterlife.
- deja vu: shows that there are life after death because its a feeling of familiarity of a new situation showing reincarnation is true

what does the law say on abortion?
abortion can take place after 24th week of pregnancy

for:
- womens body,her choice:no one can make you carry a foetus for 40 weeks
- if the baby is born with severe disibility or mothers life is at risk because of pregnancy its the best option
- if its rape the baby will be born in hatred and will be unwanted
- may not be able to bring up the child for financial/emotional reasons
against:
-life is special(sanctity of life) and should not be taken at any cost. Life begins at conception.
- just because a child is disabled doesnt mean it should be killed,it has an equal right to life
- unborn child should have same rights as any other human
- there are always people who could adopt

church of england: generally against but allows if its rape or causes harm to mother
liberal christians: against abortion but allows if it saves mothers life they believe life starts at birth
