Militarism is the glorification of military forces. It can influence the nations of Europe prior to WWI by having countries/nations feel superior than other leading to desiring to reach a higher status/rank.
How did the alliance system spread the original conflict between Austria-Hungary-and Serbia into a general war involving many countries?
By making allied countries joined in the war (costly and high casualties).
