Germans U-Boats & sub warfare
(Feb-May 1915)
German claimed they try to not sink regular ships but failed to do so. They had an advantage of the submarines where it’s more industrialized and can give surprise attacks. Germany u-boats sank many ships including regular/passengers/ships not in the war.
German submarines sinks the Lustania
(May 1915)
A submarine was fired without warning, end up drowning about 1200 people and killed hundreds American. The incident caused mixed reactions from Germany and U.S.
Arabic Pledge (1915)
Another submarine from Gernman killed 1 American causing Wilson to threatened that the U.S. will join the war if Germany won’t stop killing innocent/people who aren’t in the war. Germany reluctantly agreed.
Sussex Pledge (March 1916)
The Arabic Pledge was temporarily for 6 months. Wilson again angry (imaginative story)
“Hey Germany if you won’t stop, we be joining the war” - 😠

“Okay” - knowing U.S. shouldn’t do so 😅
Zimmerman Telegram (1917)
- tried to encouraged Mexico to attack the U.S. and join the war:

Revolution in Russia (1917)
A non-democratic government was overthrown (Czar) causing a rejoicing moment at first but then Russia decided:
