How is nationalism a cause of Ww1?
Nationalism is a strong sense of pride and loyalty to ones nation. This intense national pride feuled competition and rivalry among European countries. For instance, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in June 1914 was the immediate spark that ignited the war. Nationalism created an atmosphere of aggression and mistrust, where nations sought to assert their dominance and defend their interests which ultimately led up to ww1.
When did ww1 start and end?
28 July 1914 – 11 November 1918.
