Determine the points where the plane intersects the axes.
Take the reciprocals of the axis intercepts.
Eliminate fractions by multiplying by the smallest common denominator.
Place the indices in parentheses and represent negative values with a bar.
If the plane is parallel to an axis and does not intersect it, the reciprocal for that axis is zero, and the corresponding Miller index is zero (e.g., (2,3,0)).
