Finklesteins

A

Looks for:
– De quervins tenosynovitis (abductor pollicis longus, extensor pollicis longus)

+VE:
– pain on lateral (ulnar) side of the wrist

How:
– get pt to make a fist with the thumb inside the fist
– get to to ulnar deviate the wrist slowly

A

Looks for:
– carpel tunnel syndrome

+VE:
– pain, change of sensation 1-4.5 digits (median nerve is compressed in carpal tunnel syndrome)

How:
– dorsal sides of hands together
