Wrist Flashcards
Radiocarpal Dislocation
Disruption of radiocarpal ligaments and usually radial and ulnar styloid.
Post Closed Reduction
After procedure to return bone to original position without surgery.
Torus Fracture
Incomplete fracture of a long bone due to compression.
A.K.A buckle fracture.
Greenstick Fracture
Fracture on convex side of bone without subsequent fracture on concave side, due to the bone bending during injury.
Smith’s Fracture
Fracture of distal radius with anterior displacement of fracture.
Possibly commonuted: Salter-Harris (child), Greenstick (child).
Post Open Reduction Internal Fixation
After surgery to return bone into original position and using supports to fix in position.
Avascular Necrosis Scaphoid Fracture
Death of scaphoid bone tissue due to lack of blood supply.
Scaphoid Fracture
Break of scaphoid bone in wrist.
Colles Fracture
Fracture of distal radius with posterior displacement of fracture.
Salter-Harris Fracture
Fracture involving epiphysis of bone.
