wrist Flashcards
radial carpal joint
biaxial synovial ellipsoid joint
articular surface
distal radius and fibrocartilaginous disc to carpal bones scaphoid lunate and triqutetral
capsule
encloses the joint attached to the articular margins, thickenered and strengthen by the palmar and dorsal radiocarpal ligaments
synovial membrane
loose membrane lines the capsule with numerous folds
dorsal radiocarpal ligament
posterior border of distal radius to scaphoid lunate and triquetral
palmar radiocarpal ligament
distal radius and styloid process to anterior surface of scaphoid lunate and triquetral with fibres to capitate
palmar ulcocarpal ligament
articular disc and ulnar styloid process to lunate and triquetral
radial collateral carpal ligament
styloid process to lateral side of scaphod extends to trapezium in continuation of the midcarpal collateral ligament
ulnar collateral carpal ligament
ulnar styloid process to pisiform extends to triquetral in continuation of the midcarpal collateral ligament
blends with flexor retinaculum
Midcarpal
synovial complex saddle joint biaxial
articular surface
proximal row of carpal bones to distal row of carpal bones
capsule
fibrous capsule runs between row of bones strengthened by colletera ligament
synovial membrane
lines the capsule and all non articular and articular surfaces
palmar intercarpal ligament
proximal bones to head of capitate
dorsal intercarpal ligament
between proximal and distal rows
