ask the patient to make a first with their thumb tucked in and tilt their wrist downwards to test for De quervain’s
describe scaphoid compression test
holding the patients thumb at the MCP push the thumb backwards into the hand to test for scaphoid fracture
describe tinel’s test
tapping over the inside of the wrist causes pain and tingling on the fingers - testing for carpal tunnel syndrome
describe phalen’s test
ask the patient to hold their hand with the back of their hands and wrists touching and ask them to hold for a minute to see if symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome arise

applying compression to the inside of the wrist triggers symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome
