Casual-Permanent case example

A

A construction company, Mantina, dismissed one of their casuals in 2015. The employee had been working for them for 15 years and received casual loading. A federal judge determined in March this year that this employee should have been considered a permanent employee, fined Mantina and ordered them to backpay the employee’s entitlements for 15 years.
