To reinforce vocabulary from our class WOW words
Petite
Describes something that is small. e.g. the petite woman walked down the road carrying a bag of groceries.
Ecstatic
Very happy, excited and enthusiastic about something. e.g. I was ecstatic about my A* SPE results!
Overwhelmed
To have such a strong emotional effect on somebody that it is difficult for them to resist or know how to react. e.g. I was overwhelmed with sadness when I heard my best friend had died.
Delighted
To be really happy about something. e.g. I was delighted that my cousins were coming to visit this afternoon.
Exquisite
Extremely beautiful or carefully made. e.g. “What an exquisite tudong you are wearing Almo. I love how the flower patterns look almost real.”
Enormous
Describes something that is really big e.g. The new auditorium was enormous, it could fit over 1000 people in it!
microscopic
Describes something that is small. e.g. The microscopic ant crawled along the bench top in search of food.
gloomy
Describes something that is dull/grey without much colour. e.g. “ What a gloomy day!” Nadhira announced as she noticed the sun was being covered by grey clouds.
scurried
To run with quick short steps e.g. I scurried to class because I was running late!
marvellous
Describes something that is really good or wonderful. “What a marvellous birthday cake!” exclaimed Shasha as she helped herself to her THIRD piece!
