Used to hold books or documents when someone is reading to an audience in the church

Protestant services are congregation (group of people)
In the pews you will find the common book of prayer
This enable the congregation to share fully in the service
Narthex
In early days, it was used as a waiting place
Today it is used as a gathering space and a entrance and exit
Apse
A large semicircle or polygonal recess at the top of the church
Chancel
A place reserved for the choir
Sanctuary
The entrance to the altar
Nave
Central part of the church
Transept
Forming the arms of the cross in the church
