What is worship
Worship is the way Christians show their respect and deep love (reverance) for God because he is worthy/deserving.
Praise, honour, devotion to god
Why do Christians want to worship
Worship means to show worth.
Christians believe that God should be the main focus of their lives so everything they do should be an act of worship to God in the way they live and treat others.
What is the church?
The people, not the building
What are the three actions used in worship
To exult ~> lift up high/praise
To bow down ~> respect, submission
To serve ~> salvation, sacrifice, serve others, follow Jesus’ example
What can Christian’s do to worship through their actions?
Volunteer

Selfless

Small acts of kindness

What is liturgical worship?
A church service that follows a set pattern of and structure. Eg Roman Catholic or Anglican
Benefits of liturgical (universal) worship
Strengthens belief
Movement + reverence (word of god) is powerful
Not just what the religious leader wants to teach
Becomes familiar, a part of you
Interactive
Easy to learn and follow
Feel sense of community, inclusion
