Why did Australia get involved in World War One?
Australia was involved because we were are apart of the British Empire.
What was the result of World War One for Australia and the World?
- 60,000 Australian men died and 165,000 were wounded.
- WW1 caused famine, economic crashes, mass casualties and injuries.
- Germany had significant consequences, being forced to pay for the global sum of money spent on the war causing terrible environment for the German civilians.
Why was nationalism a cause of WWI?
Each country thought they were superior to others. These delusional beliefs lead to the increasing of militarism and the thought that they (Austria-Hungary) could easily overcome Serbia’s defense’s.
What is the difference between Long and Short Term causes of a War?
The short term causes of the war was the assassination of the archduke of Austria-Hungary and the tension after the scramble for Africa.

Armistice day was the day on which the allied forces and Germany signed the armistice thus essentially concluding the war.
