Food production increased as a result of new farming techniques and enhanced livestock breeding
Describe why the existence of a wealthy middle class was important to the development of the Industrial Revolution
The middle class took up jobs as merchants, shopkeepers, and accountants. They were able to obtain affordable comforts such as furniture and beautiful apparel. This lead to a growth in businesses and factories which ultimately created more jobs, thus creating a good economic foundation for the Industrial Revolution to occur.
Explain why an efficient transport system was useful in the process of industrialization
It enabled the movement of heavy products and materials around in order to open up access to raw materials, reduced the price of these materials and the resulting goods, and reduced local monopolies.
What contribution did an expanding empire make to the Industrial Revolution in Britain?
It made more people available for labour, and gifted Britain of greater resources for the Industrial Revolution to occur.
