Affinity Intercultural Foundation was formed in 2000 to meet the needs of the Muslim community in interacting with the greater society and the needs of the general public to increase its awareness of the Muslim community, its religion and culture. Hosts and participates in UN events such as One Voice, One Humanity in 2023.
Jihad
The former Grand Mufti of Bosnia Met with Christian, Jewish, Druze and Muslim leaders in Jerusalem on the 25th March, 2022. Met to protest for world peace and publicly oppose the Ukraine War. These leaders gathered together and reflected on scripture relating to peace. They aimed to pressure for a ceasefire to the war.
Universal Brotherhood
Islamic Relief Worldwide - a faith inspired humanitarian and development agency working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Muslims answer Allah’s call and serve him and this charity follows in Allah’s and Muhammad’s footsteps.
Agape
Caritas is an organisation that is “inspired by the Gospels, teachings of the Catholic Church and by the hopes of people living in poverty”(Caritas Australia). Caritas engages in various charitable causes like Project Compassion which allows Catholic adherents to strive for ‘inner stillness as their charitable acts will allow them to be free of guilt and be able to look favourably upon themselves. Additionally, this giving to charity simultaneously pursues the goal of world peace as Project Compassion aims to ‘transform the world’.
Forgiveness
This is seen in the work of the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby who spoke at the Nigerian Peace conference in 2018, the Archbishop advocated for reconciliation and a cease to the Muslim- Christian conflict in the region. His argument for peace asked both sides of the conflict to forgive one another, “Learn to seek peace, to accept diversity, or disagreement – in other words, reconciliation.”
