Workgroup 2 memory Flashcards

1
Q

What is the purpose of memory in the immune system from a perspective?

A

to prevent future infections. The immune system can respond more rapidly and strongly and thus getting as sick as the first infections. this can also less future collatoral damage

Q

What are the key differences between the initial immune respons and a secondary immune response?

A
  • secondary immune response takes way longer to start up
  • initial immune response is the first to attack
  • initial immune response attacks anything they dont know
