Syntax
Word order - the combination of words into meaningful structures.
Morphology
The study of word structure - the way words are formed and the way their form interacts with other aspects of grammar such as phonology and syntax.
Inflectional morphology (Inflection)
Grammatical morphemes (DA: bøjningsendelser) Suffixes that add grammatical information to a word, such as tense, number etc.
Derivational morphology (Derivation)
Lexital morphemes (DA: afledningsendelser) Adding an affix (prefix or suffix) to a root or stem creating new word with a new meaning and/or changing the word class through the use of suffixes
Art =
Article (DA: kendeord / artikel)
Articles are words that define a noun as specific or unspecific (Definite or indefinite)
N =
Noun (DA: Navneord / Substantiv)
A noun is a word that names something, such as a person, place, thing, or idea.
V =
Verb (DA: Verbum / udsagnsord)
Verbs are the action words in a sentence that describe what the subject is doing.
Adj =
Adjective (DA: Adjektiv / tillægsord)
An adjective is a word that tells us more about a noun.
Adv =
Adverb (DA: Adverbium / biord)
An adverb is a word that describes a verb, an adjective, another adverb, or even a whole sentence.
Pron =
Pronoun (DA: Pronomen / stedord)
Pronouns are small words that take the place of a noun. Pronouns are words like: he, you, ours, them.
Prep =
Preposition (DA: Præposition / forholdsord)
A preposition is a word or group of words used before a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase to show direction, time, place, location etc.
Conj =
Conjunction (DA: bindeord)
Conjunctions are words that link other words, phrases, or clauses together.
Conjunctions are words like: and, because, or, but
Num =
Numeral (DA: Talord)
A word or phrase that describes a numerical quantity
