an easy way to identify a common noun is whether it is a name for something you can touch (man,fruit,glove)
proper noun
a naming word for a particular person, place or thing. It always begins with a capital letter (Barry, Harry Potter, Paris , Friday)
abstract nouns
the name of a quality,state of mind, physical condition or idea (capitalism, intelligence, sadness,love)
collective noun
a name denoting a collection or group of people,animals or things that are. regarded as a whole(jury,crowd,herd,team)
