turning

milling
turning
lathe machine - a tool is pushed into a piece of timber rotating at high speeds to change its shape
routing
the machine works by rotating a cutting bit at a high speed, as the cutting tool passes over along the edge of the timber, a cut or profiled shape is made. routers can follow jigs or patterns
milling
Milling is the process of machining using rotary cutters to remove material by advancing a cutter into a workpiece. This may be done by varying direction on one or several axes, cutter head speed, and pressure.
wood forming processes
lamination and steam bending
lamination
is the process of forming multiple sheets of veneer, chips or solid timber using moulds and bonded together by very strong adhesives
steam bending
wood working technique where wood is exposed to steam making it able to be bent and stretched as the steam softens the wood fibres. when cooled it maintains its shape.
