papers - layout, cartridge, tracing, bleed proof, treated, watercolour
cards - corrugated, bleached, mount board, duplex, foil backed and laminated, metal effect, moulded paper pulp
layout paper
thin and translucent, smooth surface
uses - sketching and tracing
cartridge paper
off white paper, slightly textured surface
uses - sketching and printing
tracing paper
translucent and slightly thicker than layout paper
uses - copying and sketching
bleed proof paper
colours do not run on surface
uses - spirit based markers
treated paper
uses - photographic printing
water colour paper
uses - watercolour painting
corrugated card
protective against impact
uses - protective packaging and model making
bleached card
chemically treated to brighten the surface to make it suitable for high quality printing
uses - greeting cards
mount board
made of compressed cotton fibres
uses - modelling and picture mounting
duplex card
two layers of paper with a coated exterior for water res,
uses - food and drink packaging e.g. milk cartons
foil backed and laminated card
water resistant due to polymer foil layer, cant recycle with polymer layer so must be removed
uses - drinks packaging
metal effect card
high quality card, thin metal effect layer for aesthetics
uses - gift boxes, packaging and business cards
moulded paper pulp
smooth on the inside rough on the exterior
uses - eco friendly packaging
