Finger joint

- make straight, less wood get wasted, durable, adhesive, no screws required

- can crack easily, hard to smooth
Rabbet joint

- simple, easy, useful, cost effective

- strongest out of all joints, has large gluing area, looks neat

- difficult to mark and cut, need precise

- difficult to remove, don’t hold glue very well, require extra reinforcement

- edges are registered, stronger than butt joint, prevent 2 boards moving back and forth
