A

Tx: penicillin G (think: syphillis affects penis with painless chancre so tx with PENIcillin)
Test: RPR or VDRL for screening
If positive, confirm with FTA-ABS

  1. Presumptive (no period, quickening, n&v)
  2. Probable
    (Goodell’s sign- softening of the cervix, Chadwick’s sign - increased blood flow, Hegar’s sign- softening of the isthmus of the cervix, +hCG, ballottment (pushing and floating mass felt)
  3. Positive (palpation of fetus by MD or NP, visualizing fetus on US, ascultation of fetal heart tones)
