Obdurator sign
tests for appendicitis: + if Inward rotation or flexion of the right hip causes RLQ pain
Rovsing’s sign
+ for appendicitis if palpation of LLQ causes pain in RLQ
Psoas/iliopsoas
+ for appendicitis if RLQ pain when pt is supine and raises right Leg against resistance provided by NP
Markle sign
Heel jar (tests for appendicitis)
Blumburg
Palpate RLQ and upon release of hand pain is worse than pushing for appendicitis
Triple therapy for H pylori
Clarithromycin + Amox + PPI
Quadruple therapy
Flagyl, tetracycline, PPI, pepto-bismol
Skip lesions are associated with
Chrohn’s disease
If the pt has GERD and osteoporosis then do a
H2 blocker (like famotidine/Pepcid) bc/it is safer for those with osteoporosis
Long term use of H2 blockers can cause
1) decreased liver function tests
2) decreased platelet counts
