Womens Contributions Flashcards
2nd evidence and argument
Evidence: women were given the chance to work in different jobs, such like making shells ( 60% were
Women)
Argument: after ww1,
Women were seen as that belonged at home. They weren’t allowed to carry on training to be medical, many being rejected from the grounds of modesty.
1st evidence and argument
Evidence: the vote was given to women over 30, most the women who worked in ww1 were 20 and single. Those who helped didn’t get it.
Evidence: women in France didn’t get the vote till quite after and they did the same contribution.
Argument: France never pre war suffrage suggesting British suffrage campaign helped the contribution largely.
3rd evidence and argument ?
evidence: the regonision of women’s help in ww1 in helping the women’s votes, has limited however septum Scott made poster and cartoons trying to change opinions.
Argument: this meant the views on women where changing and they went really seen as demented creatures from the public media.
4th evidence and argument ?
Evidence: the work done by women in ww1 changed the vies on anti suffrage mp, like pm Asquith who thought they should due to effort
Argument: historians Macmillan suggests “playing of the patriotic card” helped win support from old anti- suffrage mps this meant a bill was more likely to pass.
