Suffragists Flashcards
2nd evidence and argument point:
Evidence: male members and 13000 members and 500 branches nation wide. Worked with mp’s such as PM Bannerman who could introduce the bill.
Argument: suffragist, spread the word of female suffrage on a large scale gained more supports from the suffeagettes in 1912, they gained more numbers of mp’s making it easily to pass bills.
1st Evidence and argument point ?
Evidence: 1907 mud march attracted 3000 people despite the rain.
Argument: methods were important because it attracted attention from the public politicians - possibly gaining supports.
3rd evidence and argument point?
Evidence: methods didn’t gain as much attention than the suffragettes, violent attacks from the Etts look over media/publicity over the suffragists.
Argument: this means that the methods weren’t as affective as the ettes, since they failed to pass 4 bills
4th evidence and argument point?
Evidence:
The PM change from Bannerman to Asquith meant they lost support from parliament.
Argument:
It was hard to gain vote, without the support of those in power. Without the link to government was unluckily to change would come from within parliament.
