- Suitability I.e welfare issues or any previous dealings with the witness that made encourage or inhibit rapport building

- Amount of information to e disclosed to interviewer
- Setting interview objectives
- Whether a monitor is required

- Conduct enquires direct by the OC and the Crown I.e NIA checks
