Showtime 1500-0659 : 13 hours, TAC may take it to a max of 15 hours
Rest during cruise
If necessary to increase alertness for critical phases of flight, then individual pilots and aircrew may rest. There shall always be two flight deck members alert and monitoring flight instruments. All crew members shall be awake from the top of descent
Transit to det min ground time
Via commercial- 36 hours
Via squadron aircraft- 18 hours
Operations requiring commodore approval
A. Operations requiring procedures or maneuvers that the assigned aircrew have not been trained to execute
B. Ops requiring deviation from AOR specific SPINS, ATO procedures or regulations
C. Flight into areas known chemical, biological, or radiation contamination
D. Flights requiring “due regard” procedures as required per DoD FLIP GP including straits transits
Stabilized Approach (1,000’ IMC, 500’ VMC HAT)
A. Aircraft is on correct flight path, laterally and vertically (ILS deviation not in excess of one dot / circling approach wings level on final no lower than 300’ HAA)
B. Airspeed commensurate with the approach (C40 not in excess of Vapp + 15 not less than Vref) Vapp -5/+10 if acknowledged
C. Aircraft in the correct landing configuration
D. Power setting not below the minimum power for the approach
E. Sink rate commensurate with the glide slope. Require sink rates in excess of 1,000 fpm should be noted during brief
F. All briefs and checklists complete
Cases which LAHSO can be accepted
A. The runway is dry
B. Ceiling and visibility exceeds 1,000 and 3
C. No tailwind exists and no windshear reported
D. LAHSO distance exceeds the greater of 5,000’ or 115% of computed landing distance over a 50’ obstacle
Min planned on deck fuel
5,000 lbs
Once airborne if conditions cause flight may be continued to destination as long as a safe landing will be assured with min of 4,000 lbs
Cost index
30, use Econ whenever practicable
Runway length/width
Landings on runways shorter than 5,000’ or less than 98’ wide require FLSW approval
Sigonella runway 10L/28R
Touch and Gos
Touch and gos for the purpose of pilot currency are permissible on line missions as long as the mission crew is briefed prior to execution. These landings should be accomplished on mission legs without passengers embarked
