Wines by the glass Flashcards
La Bella Prosecco
light, fruity, crisp, slight sweetness. From Prosecco region, between Friuli and Veneto (northeast Italy). Charmat method, second fermentation takes place in a pressurized tank. Less contact with the lees/yeast, resulting in a more crisp and fruity, less yeasty/bready wine.
Zuccolo Brut Rose
light bodied, fresh, strawberry notes, dry. From Friuli, made with Pinot Nero and Chardonnay grapes - Pinot Nero skins sit on the juice, offering the pink color and some pink fruit flavors (strawberry, pomegranate). Similarly light and fresh to the prosecco but with a different fruit profile.
Terres Secretes Brut
round, soft, dry, slightly yeasty. Made from Pinot Noir (and a touch of chard and gamay) in Burgundy. Cremant de Bourgogne - grapes from burgundy, traditional method. Second fermentation is in bottle, giving extended contact with the lees, resulting in a more fully realized yeasty or bready flavor. Presents similarly to a brut champagne for an easier price point. Richer and more buttery than the prosecco, with yellow apple and bready notes.
