Q

Canada windflower, Canada anemone

A

Anemone candensis

This species is a beautiful, vigorously spreading groundcover with dramatically lobed foliage. It works well to fill between larger perennial wildflowers (which can compete with it due to their height), or simply as an aggressive ground-cover for moist, sunny spaces. Shorter and less aggressive in drier and shadier conditions, this plant can fill just about any niche… sometimes aggressively!

Q

Swamp milkweed

A

Asclepias incarnata,

Height: 24-42 in
Bloom Color: Pink

one of the showier milkweeds, with large pink flowers that attract a wide variety of pollinators and closely co-evolved insects. This species is eponymously known for growing in moist locations, but will thrive in average garden soil if babied a little bit in its first year. Swamp milkweed is perfect for naturalizing, restoration projects, and lowland garden beds.
