Why did the UN intervene in Kosovo?
Following the collapse of Yugoslavia, Kosovo was stripped of their autonomy by then Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic in 1989. This sparked unrest among Kosovars as leading to passive protests which quickly turned into attacks on the Serbian forces.
What did the UN do in Kosovo?
UN Peacekeepers had stabilised the Kosovo conflict. This allowed a way for development. This was in the form of developing education and the economy. The UN also helped Kosovo to regain their autonomy.
