August 1914
What did Japan do?
Japan joined the war on the side of the British as they had made an alliance with Britain
What did Turkey do?
Turkey joined on Germany’s side as they were bribed with resource
What happened in 1915
In 1915, Britain offered Italy areas of land that they had won from Austria-Hungary if Italy fought on their side. Italy accepted that land and switched sides, fighting for the British!
What did china do
China joined the war with the allies in order to join the winning side in 1917
What did America do
America declared war on Germany in 1917 as a result of Germany sinking a ship carrying supplies to Britain in which 108 American civilians died.
What other countries joined
Many other countries joined such as Thailand, Bulgaria, Greece and many southern American countries.
