Q

Why are there different levels of development within countries

A

Very often government spending is centred on major cities, rather than rural areas. More highly skilled, and therefore highly paid jobs tend to be in urban, rather than rural areas
● Some LIC countries gain a lot of their wealth from tourism but this may be in very specific areas. Education is often the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, but in some regions of a country, even in HICs, emphasis may not be placed on education and the benefits this may bring in future in terms of getting skilled jobs etc.
