The biosphere is a worldwide sum of all the ecosystems

What is an ecosystem made up of?
A
Biotic and abiotic components. Ecosystems are open systems and are interdependent.

What are the three scales of ecosystems?
A
Micro scale (smallest) e.g. pond or hedgerow
Meso scale (medium) e.g. woodland
Macro scale (largest) e.g. tropical rainforest - these
are also known as biomes and occupy major geographical areas on a continental scale.
