what is whmis?
its a law that protects science workers on the job. aka the ‘right to know’ law. workers have teh right to know all that is available ab a certain material they are working with, including hazards

what are solids that may be dangerous
dust
give an example of a dust that is dangerous
asbestos - inhalation
sawdust - fire
gunpowder, coal dust, flour dust - explosion
give an example of liquids that are dangerous
hair spray, bleach, lighters fluid, gasoline
how can liquids be dangerous
there are mist or vapours from spilled liquids that can be dangerous by inhaling, skin absorption, fire, or an explosion
how can gases be dangerous
there are substances that may be dangerous by inhaling, skin absorption, fire, or an explosion
give an example of dangerous gases
smoke, carbon, monoxide, propane
what are the four major ways chemicals can enter ur body
inhalation - breathing it in
ingestion - swallowing it
absorption - through skin or eyes
injection - through needles or sharp objects that puntrue skin
what are the four parts of the body chemicals usually attack first
skin - burns, rashes, blisters, discoloration
eyes - iritation, burning, blindness
lungs - less oxygen absorption or damage to lungs
digestive system - damage to teh stomach or intestine lining
