- Filippo Gallino is credited with producing the first 100% Arneis in Piedmont in 1972
- It’s not easy to know when Gallino’s family had first started producing wine, as the origins are
lost in time. Perhaps the Barbera and the Nebbiolo had already been produced before Gallino Stefano
was even born. (1856)Wine business wasn’t the principal activity during that time as there are other fruits and peaches that are equally important - Gallino Felice (1904), with his brothers, started to produce the first bottle of red wine. His son, Filippo Gallino in 1939, discovered the “Azienda Agricola Filippo Gallino” and he decided to give all his
life to the production of typical Roero wines. - The birth of the grape Arneis was in 1970. In 1972, Filippo is the first to propose the bottled Roero Arneis to the market.
- Filippo still works today, performing all the jobs both in the vineyards and in the winery, with the much help needed from his family members during the busiest period of the year.”

native yeast and nominally filters.
-His overriding goal is for his wines to reflect not the hand of the winemaker but rather the original character of the vine and soil and vintage.
