“Burgundy-Gevrey Chambertin: The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is mostly from Carougeot vineyard, plus declassified
Fontenys and Bel-Air, the latter two 1er Crus.”

Cool, mineral-laced fruit, crushed flowers, tar, licorice, mint and spices. The finish is long. The wine fills out a bit with time in the glass so offer to decant the wine

“Bruno founded the domaine which bears his name in 1979. The domaine at that time included plots in Marsannay and Fixin, the Dominode vineyard in Savigny-les-Beaune, and a large plot lying fallow in Morey-St.-Denis - ““En la Rue de Vergy.

  • He is the son of Bernard Clair (1920-2005) and the grandson of Joseph Clair (1889-1971),originator of the famous Domaine Clair-Daü which was founded in Marsannay in 1919.
  • Following Joseph’s death, family disagreements led to the dismantling of the Domain Clair-Daü. In 1986, Bruno was entrusted with the vineyards of his parents, brothers and sisters which included those of Clos de Bèze, Cazetiers, Clos St-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, Clos du Fonteny and Chambolle-Musigny.
  • More vineyards were purchased by the estate in 1993, inlcuding Corton-Charlemagne, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton, and in 1996 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle was added to bring the size of the domaine to almost 57 acres.
  • Domaine Bruno Clair believes in the total absence of chemical fertilizers, the exclusive use of
    compost, and in plowings and harrowing the soil throughout the year. The grapes are hand-harvested,
    and the selection of the best grapes is carried out primarily in the vineyards.”

Peay growns 35 acres of Pinot Noir split into 20-25 separate blocks based on clonal selection, aspect, elevation and various other factors. They pick them individually and vinify 20-25 Pinot Noirs each vintage.

Adelaide Plains: The Adelaide Plains wine region is situated just 18 miles north of Adelaide amongst the market gardens and rose farms of Virginia and Angle Vale.

Rawley Power, the creator of this fine drop. Rewind the tape 20 years and Rawley Power’s voice was being pounded into the ear drums of punk music fans throughout this southern land. Rawley’s strained voice as front man for punk band ‘Anti-Power’ was also known to true blue fans as the ‘Raw Power Show’ as Rawley’s voice took hold over the garage crowds whipping them into the original mosh. 20 plus years on, a different life in full swing as creator of this red flowing liquid. A different life with the same ‘my way’ approach. Punk singer, punk winemaker, Raw Power.

Peloponnese: Located in the southernmost section of continental Greece, the vineyards of the Peloponnese are from every aspect among the most important Greek viticultural regions. Peloponnesus features the most vineyards, the most wineries and produces the greatest number of registered types of wines than any other wine-producing area of Greece

”- Skouras Winery was started in 1986 by Dijon-trained oenologist George Skouras. Working with both indigenous varieties as well as international varieties, Skouras started producing very high quality
Greek wines in the late 1980’s.
-Nemea has been regarded as a great winemaking region since the time of the ancient Greeks; Homer called this region Ampeloessa which literally means “Full of vines”. Recent archeological excavations have revealed winemaking being done here over 3500 years ago.
- The most important grape variety in here is Aghiorghitiko, also known as St. George, derived from the name of the town where the grape variety is thought to have come from “Agios Georgios” or Saint George.
- One-hundred percent Aghiorghitiko from 20+ year old vines that are planted 2100+ feet above sea level. Fermented and macerated in stainless steel vats, then aged in French barriques for 12-months and another six in bottle.”

- Named in honor of the historic city of Villalar. Juan López de Padilla, the head of the Comunera Revolution, was killed during the 1581 Battle of Villalar and buried at La Mejorada.

Piedmont: is the range of Italian wines made in the province of Piedmont in the northwestern corner of Italy. The best-known wines from the region include Barolo and Barbaresco. They are made from the Nebbiolo grape.

  • Alessandro, when to Enology school in Alba then worked for Bartolo Mascarello for 20 years.
  • All of their Barolo are fermented for 20 days in stainless steel, then aged in large oak foudres and barrique for up to 4 years.”

”- Notes: smells of ripe mulberries, cardamom, carob, and black walnut husks. With a satiny
texture and slight sense of density. On the palate with dark stewed fruits, rich nut oils, braised fennel,
and hints of dark chocolate. Cardamom and white pepper emerge prominently in the surprisingly bright
finish.”

  • Philippe’s Bernede farms 148 acres of vines that rest upon the gentle slopes that rise up from the Lot River.
  • 80% Malbec (Cot) 20% Merlot from 25 year old vines
  • Fermented in Stainless Steel for 15-18 days before the wine is blended and aged in large older barrels for a year.”

Bordeaux: The Bordeaux region is naturally divided by the Gironde Estuary into a Left Bank area which includes the Médoc and Graves and a Right Bank area which includes the Libournais, Bourg and Blaye. The Médoc is itself divided into Haut-Médoc (the upstream or southern portion) and Bas-Médoc (the downstream or northern portion, often referred to simply as “Médoc”).

Syrah

Rhône Valley: in Southern France and is situated in the Rhône river valley. The Rhône is generally divided into two sub-regions with distinct vinicultural traditions, the Northern Rhône (referred to in French as Rhône septentrional) and the Southern Rhône (in French Rhône méridional). The northern sub-region produces red wines from the Syrah grape, sometimes blended with white wine grapes, and white wines from Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier grapes. The southern sub-region produces an array of red, white and rosé wines, often blends of several grapes such as in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

  • Pierre Gonon is the founder of the domaine that still bears his name even though sons Jean & Pierre are now in full command of the winery.
