What was food and drink like?
The British had a very basic diet back then.
What was life like in 1509?
It was very agricultural and there were a lot of primary industries instead of tertiary industries.
What was Scotland like back in 1509?
Scotland had their own king and parliament. They were not part of the EU at that time.
The other parts of the world that time?
There were only a few places in the world that people could recognise. I.e. North and South America where two of the places people recognised in the world.
What language did they speak in England then?
They spoke English but the Catholic bible was in Latin so people could speak Latin as well as English.
Transport?
People use to walk a lot especially if you were poor. But if you were wealth, back then, you would of travelled by a horse or by cart.
Housing conditions?
For the rich they would of lived in strong well defended homes, but for the poor people they would of lived in small, weak cottages.
Religion?
The common religion was Christianity. The pope was head of church, until Henry VIII divorced Catherine of Aragon, and everyone was a catholic.
Clothing?
Wealthy people would of worn the finest, expensive fabrics. The poor would of worn rags.
Education?
Only the wealthy went to school, and they were just male students.
Politics?
The politicians were really powerful them times. They passed the laws and collected taxes.

In 1509, the king of England was (Henry VII/ Henry VIII). He also controlled most of (Wales/Scotland) and part of Ireland. (Wales/Scotland) was an independent country. Some land was used for (fishing/farming) but most of it was wasteland or (woodland/Disneyland). Nine out of ten people lived in the (towns/countryside) and grew their own food. If they grew more food that they needed they would sell at a local market.
